Anukriti is a lawyer with over 10 years of experience and an Advocate-on-Record with the Supreme Court of India. Enrolled with the Bar Council of India in the year 2010, she began her legal pursuits with the top tier Indian intellectual property firm – Remfry & Sagar, where her area of focus was protection of intellectual property (IP) rights. In 2015, Anukriti ventured into independent practice.

Anukriti has worked extensively on formulating strategies for protection of her client’s IP and enforcement thereof. She has also advised a wide array of clients on corporate transactions in connection with their IP rights including transfer and licensing of IP.

Anukriti has also interacted and coordinated with law firms all across the globe. She has represented multinational corporations, non-governmental organizations, associations before various courts and fora across India including Delhi, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Haryana, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh. One of her litigation successes include successfully arguing before the Hon’ble High Court of Bombay and obtaining a favorable decision on ‘passing off’ being available even in relation to the ‘shape’ of an article, when the shape is being treated as a trademark. She has also obtained a favorable order from the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi on credibility of descriptive trademarks.

She also advises and guides start-ups on IP as well as compliance issues. Having witnessed the
implementation of IP laws in different jurisdictions of the country, she is fully abreast with the hurdles posed in securing IP protection and enforcement.

In addition to her intellectual property right expertise, she has also handled dispute resolution matters. She has represented clients on all sides and before numerous jurisdictions i.e. original, appellate and writ side in respect with civil, consumer, intellectual property, matrimony & family and criminal law.
